Support Katikati College & Community!
The Charity Committee at Katikati College is going to be running a mufti day and bake sale at the school on Tuesday 4th of September 2018 to fundraise for Kiss Goodbye to MS. Along with this, we would like to get the community involved by encouraging local businesses to dress up or accessorize with red to show their support.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease where the immune system damages the surrounding tissues of the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. The nerve damage disrupts the communication between the brain and the body, sometimes resulting in a wide range of symptoms. MS can affect the individuals ability to walk, move, or perform everyday tasks. It is estimated that every one New Zealander in a thousand has MS, but only just over 4000 have been diagnosed.
Funds raised for Kiss Goodbye to MS help support them in advocating for treatments and greater access to resources for those affected by MS in New Zealand, as well as supporting their families and carers. Donations also support research projects, both nationally and internationally, that are aimed at finding out more about the disease and possibly making ground-breaking discoveries.
We are very passionate about supporting Kiss Goodbye to MS, so we want to get as many people in the Katikati community involved! Any support and/or donations would be fantastic and greatly appreciated :)
